We’ve received a pair of Lakai’s Mike Carroll Embarko shoes recently and we’re really hyped on the amount of detail that went into these collectible kicks. Built on the silhouette of the Select, these shoe’s side panels feature mosaics with frame grabs of EMB reated video footage shot by Jacob Rosenberg many years ago. An EMB C Block Carroll logo crowns the tongue to properly brand this offering.
As Jake helped to collaborate on this limited shoe offering, it comes with no surprise, but with much added value that these shoes include a special DVD of unreleased footage of young MC skating with his brother Greg and friends in the streets of Daly City and of course at SF’s renowned EMB. Jake’s original footage was shot in Hi8 format (remember that?) and is a bit blown out and sketchy in quality, but properly reflects Carroll’s youthful, natural ability and emergence on the good ole’ brick laden stomping grounds of Justin Herman Plaza. It’s so good to see that Mike is still banging out quality parts over 15 years later! Also, you can catch clips of Jake’s home grown trampoline skate skills that appeared in a few videos years ago.
Head over to one of your favorite skate shops or online retailers to check out these special Embarko offerings. Good stuff indeed!
