It pretty much goes without saying that videos play a very vital and significant role within the lifecycle of every successful and legit skate brand and company out there today. And although Ogio’s roots were not founded in skateboarding, they were keen to realize the need for well-designed, functional, reliable and rugged bags for the heads that lug around equipment and capture footage all day. When one is forced to carry his/her cameras, laptops and related equipment out to the streets and skate spots of the world in shoulder bags that have the convenience, efficiency and protection of a paper bag, you know there’s a dire need for a replacement.
Straight up though, Ogio’s R&D team got it right from the start, seeing that they specifically wrangled Ty Evans to provide his experience and ideas for his signature video equipment bag directly designed for skateboard filming fanatics. The video bag rests comfortably on your shoulders and comes with plenty of padded dividers and is designed to fit two video cameras. Ty must have kicked some knowledge to include the custom “Mic Support” spacers to prevent microphone damage too. Adjustable Velcro spacers will accommodate other camera configurations also.
Solid and well designed, this bag has other features that include a custom battery compartment, four interior pockets specifically designed to hold DV tapes, a padded sleeve for 15” laptop, external pockets for accessories and tools, tripod support straps, very durable and catch-free zippers, and an integrated lighting system. Plus, there is full protective padding around the bag for maximum shock absorption.
This is THE bag to own if you’re serious about keeping your video gear protected, organized and primed for action.
On the same development path, Ogio has addressed these similar needs towards skate photographers and their gear. As with Ty, they have also lent their ears and interest to Atiba Jefferson to produce his very own signature bag designed and built with the same goals in mind, but configured to safely handle the most prized cameras and equipment. I seriously can’t wait to store and carry my gear in one of those. It’s about time someone took the time to get it right and bring these equipment bags to market.
To get one of your own, check your local skate retailer or order directly online through one of our favorite skateboarding sites. Be sure to protect yourself before you wreck yourself.
