Founded by legendary skater Salman Agah who has been regarded as the the pioneer of switch skating in the early 90s, Skaterade is an independently owned beverage company that has been established with much of his input and ideas. And on the same level, his business partners also have plenty of years of skateboarding experience and history beneath their wheels. So collectively they know what appeals to skaters when it comes to thirst, especially when they’ve traveled the nations highways sitting in the back of a jacked-up van full of sweaty team mates after dishing out skate demos in Arizona in the middle of the summer, etc.
In any case, last week two dozen cans of Salman’s liquid inspiration showed up to our office and in our excitment we chugged down the contents of each and every can within thirty minutes. Man, were we stupid! Our stomachs ached and sure enough, we puked all over our desks shortly thereafter. Yeah right!!!
In truth, these stylish 8.4 fluid once cans have been a great addition to our work and skate schedules. And of the four cans that we did actually drink thus far, we’ve felt a sweet little surge of energy and stoke. The taste of Skaterade is just right… it’s not too fruity and there’s no harsh medicine-like aftertaste that many of the “extreme” brands often yield.
Specially formulated by skaters for the rest of the world, Skaterade works great in those moments when you don’t have a coffee maker nearby and you need a rush of energy from a reliable source. Plus it’s loaded with Niacin, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, and 100% Vitamin C to keep the skate moms happy.
Embraced and backed up by renowned artists like Shepard Fairy, and Lance Mountain, the Skaterade crew have put together a solid foundation of graphically inspired propaganda and related marketing for their beloved energy drink. The revolution is on and it’s time to join it!
