Online Auction Alert to Benefit the Romano Family
We wanted to alert the skateboarding community of an Ebay online auction where all proceeds are going to the wonderful family of Johnny Romano. Local Tampa Bay artist Chad Cardoza created his own version of Jeremy Fish’s 2008 Tampa Pro turtle trophy, where throughout the event this past spring the turtle chilled in the pro shop and it was signed by most all of the pros who showed up to skate.
Some of the notables who have signed the turtle include professional skaters: Ryan Sheckler, Bam Margera, Paul Rodriguez, Tony Trujillo, Mark Gonzales, Omar Salazar, Stefan Janoski, Mike Peterson, John Rattray, Brain Anderson, Nick Dompierre, Bobby Worrest, Adam Dyet and many, others.
Bid on a piece of skate history where the monies are going to help out a great family of a kid who touched all of our hearts.

Foot Locker To Buy CCS For $102 Million
Hey kids, do you buy your decks and shoes from catalog giant CCS? Well, now you’ll be buying them from Foot Locker. The huge mall based shoe store is looking to “expand its offerings in the skateboarding apparel category” and has agreed to buy CCS for a cool $102 million. Not exactly chump change. We guess it will be a small price to pay in order to “help broaden its appeal to teenaged males”.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, PLEASE support your local privately owned skate shop. If and when skateboarding becomes anything less than a target market these shops will still be there supporting the scene. We’re guessing the 63 year old Foot Locker CEO who makes $1,500,000 a year couldn’t care less.
