The FCC might’ve not been warned, but the Master of Disaster has a new radio show burning through the interweb and airwaves every Friday from 2pm- 4pm PST called Straight to Hell with Duane Peters. You’re all invited to tune in where he’ll play rare and hard hitting underground punk rock and talk a little shiz’ahh of course to kickstart your weekend.

Posted by bkIn a show of solidarity, Kris Markovich has formed a new skateboarding company under the name of Given and has brought along most of the team riders from his previous camp and added Nate Jones to the line up.
Posted by bkAccording to SF Gate, 12-year-old skater Quentin Favia of San Francisco took it upon himself to collect a donation of skateboards for the kids at Oakland’s Rainbow Recreation Center. Now, instead of taking turns to share one of six skateboards, the younsters are hyped to ride at their own pace. Good work kid!
Posted by bkThis Saturday, May 31st, a group of twenty five high school students from Beth Morrison’s advanced art class at Burbank’s JBHS will be displaying and auctioning hand painted skateboards at a special event called Artistic Influenza to raise money for the Land Of Plenty Skateboard Foundation.

Posted by bkToday MTV Networks and NBC Sports have announced a huge, wide ranging, strategic partnership to expand the AST Dew Tour going forward.
From the press release: “As part of the MTV Networks/NBC Universal alliance around the AST, MTV and MTV2 will provide lifestyle programming, targeted cross-promotion, multi-platform content and distribution, consumer products licensing and merchandising to the joint venture.”
With this announcement, remember you have the choice and right to eat up these commoditized products and hype (MTV board graphics anyone?) or continue to support the “real deal” skate companies and skate shops from which skateboarding has emerged over the years. Let’s not forget the Cowtowns, Pitcrews, FTCs, Familias, Skateworks, Nocturnals, MIAs, NJ Skateshops and others dedicated with deep-seated involvement and love for skateboarding huh?
Speaking of tours, Thrasher has just posted footy of the first demo stop from Girl and Anti-Hero’s recent Beauty and the Beast tour. It all went down in front of an overly packed crowd of hyped kids at Portland’s newly remodeled Department of Skateboarding where Koston ended it with a fakie tre bomb. Look for some Orcas Island madness soon.
Posted by bkSummer is nearly here and many skate teams are gearing up for tours and road trips in the coming days. Dawes and the Indy Truck Co. crew are already on it literally… six weeks of road travel began last week and the miles between demos and skate sessions have been long. Catch up with the tour as it burns through your hood next month; oh yeah, it’s fully blogged right here. Also out of the gates on its tour the Bones team is rolling across Europe. Several dates and stops remain. The Bacon team will be touring Sweden starting at Quiksilver’s Bowlriders event in Malmo and going up to Stockholm from June 5th to the 25th. Also traveling across the pond for a lengthy Europe tour next month, the Zoo York team is set for autograph signings and demos in fourteen cities spread throughout the United Kingdom, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Czech Republic, and France.
Next month, Plan B will be dropping in on Russia and Canada to include these skate tour stops. Check their regularly updated site for more info.

Posted by bkAfter today’s bowl battle in Port Angeles, it looks like the Skrotes’ very own Rion Linderman will be packing his bags to get down at Quiksilver’s 9th annual Bowlriders event on June 12th in Malmo, Sweden. Also, Australia’s Corbin Harris emerged as the winner of the Quiksilver Elanora Bowlriders, so he too will be jet setting for free over to the land of milk and honey. Congrats to both of you!
