Pro Tec Pool Party Primed for Action
The practice sessions and qualifying rounds for Pro Tec’s 4th annual Pool Party have been absolutely hot and heated over the past two days…proving that today’s rounds of competition are sure to measure up to the hype and battles of years past. Unfortunately, due to an assortment of unfortunate injuries, Lance Mountain, Salba, Jeff Grosso and Duane Peters will not compete in the Masters’ competition. Nonetheless, the Combi Bowl at the the Vans skatepark in Orange, CA will host many of the world’s best bowl riders, young, old, seasoned and hungry to get down to business.
Although the afternoon and evening of competition will be a long one, be sure to catch the action at your leisure beginning at 1pm (PST) via live webcast on Skateboard.com.

And The Nominees Are…
Transworld has posted the nominees for the 10th Annual TWS Awards. The envelopes are going to be opened on June 13th at the Avalon in Hollywood. The event will also include the premiere of the new TWS video, And Now, as well as a photo slide-show celebrating its ten year anniversary.

New Lakai Site, Election Series
Lakai has launched a new webernet site with the centerpiece being a killer video highlighting the new ‘Election Series’. Man, that is good stuff. Oh, the voting begins on June 15th. I’m guessing it’s getting mad traffic right now as it’s moving a tad slow so be patient, it’s worth it.

Jake Brown Returns to the Mega Ramp
Just short of nine months after his perilous and miraculous 45 foot fall at last summer’s X Games, Jake Brown has made his return to the Mega ramp. Dave Carnie and crew caught up with him on Bob’s backyard structure for his first go since he became the sporting world’s newest face for “The Agony of Defeat” and dethroned Chris Miller for skateboarding’s long-standing “worst slam ever”. Count on Jake to be gunning for gold again this summer…he’s as tough as they come!

The Legend of Tim Brauch Set for a Documentary
On May 9, 1999 professional skateboarder Tim Brauch suddenly died of cardiac arrest at the young age of 25. To those who’d shared moments with him in his life, it was very apparent that his love and energy for skateboarding and beyond was truly infectious and affected so many, many others worldwide. Thanks to his family and friends, Pete Koff, Jai Tanju, Lance Dalgart, Aaron Jones and Ray Stevens II, a documentary on Tim’s legendary life is in the works.
Have a look at the trailer and see why Tim emerged as a role model for future generations of skaters everywhere.
Look for the film to be released in the spring of 2009. Never Forget.

Copenhagen Readies for CPH Pro 08
Copenhagen’s 2nd annual CPH Pro is set for June 27-29, 2008. In the throws of preparations, skater and master craftsman Brent Kronmueller and an able and dedicated crew of Danes have been busy giving the Copenhagen skatepark a rather impressive face lift with a whole new street course. Meanwhile, Danish beauty Camilla sat down to catch up with Berrics homies Steve Berra and Erik Ellington to gather their thoughts about the contest and their plans to attend. Jim Greco couldn’t be persuaded otherwise.
