The Return Of Big Brother

It was hinted at during the 24 hour Mtv Jackass take over, but now Transworld Business is reporting Big Brother will live again…online. From the article:

“Right now the plan is that Big Brother will be a section of Jackassworld,” says Jeff Tremaine. “We’re going to put up all the back issues and anything we do skateboarding-related will be housed there as well.”

Interesting. No word on if you can download and build the infamous “Sugar Coated Penis Pops” box or how much it will cost to view each issue.

Skate Parked

Here’s a little bit of skatepark news for this Thursday morning. Thrasher magazine’s Schmitty and P Stone are proud to report that the long-awaited Potrero del Sol skatepark effort in SF is steadily making progress. Pool coping has been installed as the flat bottom pours await for both the street and bowl areas to seal the deal. Up north in Lincoln City, Red and crew have completed the snakerun (phase 4) that will surely kick you in the pants at one of the gnarliest skateparks in the world. Spring has sprung…get to it!

Hawk In USA Today

Focusing on the business side of Hawk’s success is the focus of this detailed USA Today online piece, Gliding Into The Future, that includes a lengthy video. Parents and companies love him: “There’s nothing controversial about Tony Hawk, he’s apple pie for families” and he’s happy to sell them comforters and McDonalds. On the flip side it’s interesting to hear him say he’s a skateboarder first and he cares most about what people think of his skating. Love him or curse him…he’s made quite an impact.
