It sure would be cool to see Mr. Skinema flip the script and cruise around Times Square trolling for chill girls in that ride!

The Ugly Pollution of Politics
By the sounds of this newly published OC Register article, it sounds like elected officials and community groups in the skateboard-centric city of Costa Mesa, CA have their minds set on a series of small “pocket” skateparks blighted with the pre-fab ramps as a solution to reduce noise and loss of open space by skateboarding enthusiasts.
What’s more, “To help defray costs, the city will likely seek corporate sponsorships from its powerful skateboard industry, which Lisa McPherson, a recreation supervisor, said is the largest producer of skateboard decks in the western United States.” Ever heard of the skateboarding industry’s migration to offshore production in China or Mexico Lisa? Nonetheless, why shouldn’t the taxpayers contribute to the costs? After all, these adults and their children are there to enjoy them. It’s really no different for public basketball and tennis courts and baseball fields.
Hmmm…will this summer’s highly touted and richest skate event ever at the Orange County fairgrounds generate and contribute any sound revenue for a more appropriate skatepark solution perhaps? Only time will tell.
