When it Rains…
With summer behind us and the wet season soon approaching, have a look (in low def) into the way Gonz handles his business out on the wet streets of NYC.

Posted by bkMike Rogers and his organization Grind for Life which has been putting forth a big effort to help those with cancer is rolling out the 4th stop of its skatepark series this Saturday, September 22nd. It takes place at the legendary Kona skatepark in Jacksonville, Florida. Show up to skate and support!
Posted by bkThat’s the headline on a recent article posted at the Olympic focused website, Around The Rings. Transworld has a copy of the article posted at their site. It seems like there is a lot of red tape between the groups that need to come together for skating to be included in the 2012 games in London.
It’s hard to believe that International Roller Sports Federation is set to hold a Skateboard World Championships in 2009. Crazier things have happened…maybe we’ll see a joint Roller Dancing / Half Pipe contest.
Posted by ChrisNike SB is set to premiere its first full-length skate flick, “Nothing But the Truth” in Los Angeles early next month. Head over to their movie page for the schedule of worldwide premieres, trailers, photos and related info.
Posted by bkAmidst the reshuffling of the company infrastructure from the recent Timberland acquisition IPath has ultimately given Bobby Puleo the boot from its team. Making it three Kennys, Mr. Anderson is now rolling with Reed and Hughes over at Satori. Dan Murphy’s time has come to join the pro ranks through his signature deck offering at Mystery. Rookie pro Sierra Fellers has gotten FKD over and onto his line up of sponsors.
Posted by bkA few weeks back we mentioned an ‘art’ skate video selling for $84,000 at a Sotheby’s auction in Melbourne. This article in The Sydney Morning Herald introduces us to Shaun Gladwell, the man behind the lens. His new work includes breakdancing, “young men sliding through supermarkets on their knees”(?) and footage of Jake Brown’s X-Games fall. Here’s what Gladwell said about the fall:
“I would never have shown it if he’d done permanent damage to himself,” Gladwell said. “But we all love watching accidents, whether it’s on Funniest Home Videos or on the sporting field. It’s bad when you hit the ground, but there’s something beautiful about seeing a body fly through the air.”
And this guy is getting rich off skate video as art? Maybe he can get a job at that awful Mtv show, Scarred or be the next Bob Saget.
Posted by ChrisEver heard of Alex Perelson? Well, it you haven’t, he’s one of just a handful of teens out there rising up against the foundations of the aging and reigning crop of professional vertical skaters. We’re hyped that vert’s new face has carried on the tradition of smooth style and has not gone completely towards stinkbuggery and other snowboard-inspired stunts.
One of skateboarding’s original badasses, Tony Alva recently celebrated his 50th birthday on September 2nd in Los Angeles. Happy Birthday Mad Dog!!!
