The Man Who Souled The World
Yeah, we mentioned this Rocco focused film a while back, but now there’s an updated website that includes a new, extended trailer, a detailed photo gallery, downloads and all sorts of other good content. The first screening dates have also been announced.
We really can’t wait to see this one…the list of players is an amazing who’s who. Plus, we really miss the good old days when skateboarding was dead.

Design Your Own Downtown Showdown Obstacle
If you think you have the skills to create a skate obstacle on par with Element, Real, Girl and the like, then write it down and draw it up. Then email it to Vans and your design could end up in this year’s Downtown Showdown contest.
Visit this contest page on the Vans site to learn how to send in your design. The prize (past pros shredding your creation)? The team that builds your obstacle at the contest also builds one for you at a location of your choice. Not bad.

More are Hired and One is Fired
Following his solid video part in “Viajeros Locos” Brian Brown is the latest stuntwoodsman from out East to turn pro. His debut board on Listen is available now at better skate shops. Also enjoying the professional ranks, Bobby Worrest is now paid by Krooked with his long overdue signature cue. adidas has bumped both Vince del Valle and Lem Villemin up as the newest Ams to join its skateboarding squadron. In a sad state of news, Birdhouse has released Anthony “Rag Doll” Scalamere from its pro team and as a result, he will not appear in their upcoming video, “The Beginning” next month.

Dyrdek Gets Caught Up with Pacino and De Niro?
Is Rob Dyrdek the next professional skater to drop onto the silver screen of Hollywood? Well, it appears that the kid from Ohio is set to appear in “Righteous Kill” along with Academy Award winners Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. Filming has already begun, so stay tuned for the trailers.
In other news, Rob’s cohort, Christopher “Big Black” Boykin has announced that DC Shoes, Inc., has graciously agreed to an early termination of their endorsement agreement. This arrangement will allow Big to concentrate on developing and promoting his own Double B brand.

Newly Hired Guns
Deservedly, Silas Baxter-Neal has moved up the chain to the pro ranks with a signature deck at Habitat. Garrett Hill has followed the same path over at Zero. Elsewhere, Lenny Rivas jumped into pro status at DGK as well. Picking up some solid sponsors and becoming more recognized in recent months, Kenny Hoyle has been laced up as the newest Am with DVS. Little ripper Curren Caples is making a name for himself as the newest Am at Flip. Black Labelist, Shuriken Shannon has been living roughly on the road with some kings for the past week, but all the while he’s officially and stylishly clothed in Planet Earth apparel. Although Corey Duffel is out with a mashed ankle, he still manages to get the job done and hooked up another sponsor situation…this time with mail order retail powerhouse CCS.

We’re Ok EurOk Footy
You might forget you’re watching a web video as you view We’re Ok EurOk, the latest from the Girl / Chocolate / Crailtap camp. In a world of short, poor quality, You Tube jacked videos…this is pure gold. Get comfy and give it your full attention. Thanks to Meza and team for making the day after a holiday weekend more than tolerable.
Oh yeah…be patient, the download is a bit long pushing out 80 Megs of beauty.

Puma Clyde Skate
Puma has been working with Scott Bourne for quite a while now (you might have seen him in a few Puma commercials (one, two). Now Puma is releasing a Bourne inspired Clyde with extra tongue padding and Bourne artwork on the heel and footbed. Is this just the beginning of a larger Puma skate line? We shall see.
