Memorable Moments with Jason Adams
As you’ve known already, Black Label skateboards had welcomed Jason Adams back to their team several weeks back. As a tribute to his skateboarding efforts over the years, they’ve assembled a “feel good” greatest hits piece over at their Peepshow dealio. Have a look. Without a doubt, the ender is one of our all time favorite stunts from “The Kid”.

The Challenges of Life in a Van
Right now, somewhere out there in the middle of America there are four select groups of individuals that have been spending the past week skating their asses off non-stop come hell or high water. With the pedal to the metal and a few hours of highway time to rest up, the skate teams from Blind, Foundation, Zoo York and Black Label have been clocking in footage and accepting the grueling challenges from Thrasher magazine’s 5th annual King of the Road.
The crews are nearing the midway meet up point in Milwaukee tomorrow where they will pick up their “Mystery Guests” and get together for a huge skate jam. Then it’s a straight up dash out west to San Diego with more points to rack up to claim the cash, crown and cover.
Looking for more info on your favorite team’s status? Check in daily on the official KOTR blog… the Label clan is winning that effort by a mile.

Nearly 10 years since their cinematic release of “The End”, Birdhouse is set to premiere its new video effort titled ” The Beginning” on Friday, October 12th in Los Angeles. This world premiere will be followed by 55 national and international premieres.
With full parts from many of its new and rising team riders and some of the veteran pros on the squad as well, look for Tony Hawk, Matt Ball, Steve Nesser, Brian Sumner, Jeremy Klein, Willy Santos and Shaun White to represent the pro team. Justin Figueroa, Randy Ploesser, David Loy, Derek Burdette, Sean Eaton, Shaun Gregoire, Jean Postec, Riley Hawk, Nathan LaCoste, and Jon Dickson will hold it down for the new generation.
So Nesser is still on and Ragdoll is gone? That’s news to us.

$84,000 Skate Video?
We would love to see a copy of this video. “An anonymous buyer at a Sotheby’s auction in Melbourne has paid $84,000 for a digital installation work showing a man skateboarding at Bondi.”
A search on You Tube for the artist / filmer in question pulled up this footage of the amazing and inspiring Og De Souza. Could Oggy’s footage be pulling in 84Gs?
We’re hoping the pricey video will hit You Tube sooner than later.

The Skateboarding Circus Rolls into San Diego
If you’re heading down to San Diego for next weekend’s ASR show, there are several skate-related events that you should know about and definitely check out. On Friday evening, September 7th, DVS is hosting a photo show to kick off their second round of “Photographer Series” shoes which become available for Spring 08. The featured photographic works of Michael Burnett, Skin Phillips, Dave Swift and J. Grant Brittain will be hanging on the walls with sales proceeds to benefit the Go Skateboarding Foundation. Sounds like a good time.
At ASR on Saturday at 1 pm, Boost Mobile presents the original eS Game of Skate Amateur World Championships where the top 32 worldwide Amateur G.O.S. winners from all over the world will be gunning for glory. A Pro Finals contest will follow at 3 pm with a total prize purse of $20,000. That’s quite a lot of dough for a flat ground contest, right?
Also, it’s been said that a super top secret mega eSpecial event will immediately follow the Pro Contest. So don’t skip out on the scene so quickly, or you could miss out on a once-in-a-lifetime experience. What?! A Rodney Mullen demo?
For more information, head over to esgameofskate.com.
Later in the day, a preview of a Vintage Skateboard Auction takes place from 3pm - 6:45 pm for those inclined to shell out hard earned cash for rare skateboarding memorabilia.
The evening will wrap up at the House of Blues with Thrasher’s King of the Road “End of the Line” party. Join in on the mayhem and security breaches as Bad Shit and Nihilist deliver a couple of ear piercing sets and the winning team for KOTR 2007 is announced. Sorry kids, 21 and over.
