Jake Brown = Superman.
By now you’ve seen the footage of Jake Brown’s heavy, heavy fall on the MegaRamp at X Games 13 yesterday. After a fifty foot fall Jake has contusions in his liver and lungs…but no broken bones or major injuries. Amazing. Jake is still in the hospital for evaluation but doing great. We wish him the best. As far as results: Bob took first, Jake took second and PLG took third.
UPDATE: It’s not everyday that the New York Times has ‘day after’ coverage on a skateboarding event. It’s happened with the ole’ Mega Ramp.

Curiculum Online Mag
We ran across San Diego based Curiculum Mag via the Deluxe website…and we’re glad we did. You can browse so many articles in this online magazine. They got a great JT Aultz interview, a solid piece on skating San Diego, quality photos and even book and food reviews. Nice to see someone taking the internet format seriously. Enjoy and remember to scroll to your right.

This NY Times article sheds some information that you might not want to hear if you plan on visiting, skating, photographing and filming in the streets of Manhattan. Spotters, decoys, and Ninja tactics might have to come into effect if these rules are strictly enforced.

Freestyle is Undead?
This past weekend the skate friendly city of Vancouver, Canada played host to this year’s World Freestyle Skateboard Championships. Like slalom, this once lost art seems to be growing in popularity and old pros and new young (guns?) traveled from regions of Germany, Sweden, Brazil and the USA just to be there. The contest took place in Robson Square located at the University of British Columbia.
