Euro Skate Competitions for Summer
QUIKSILVER BOWLRIDERS
Quiksilver and World Cup Skateboarding presents the 8th Annual Bowlriders contest next weekend June 7th - 10th at the Stapelbaddsparken in Malmö Sweden. Last year’s event yielded a Euro sweep on the podium for the first time ever. Is a repeat in order this summer?
Nonetheless, there’s sure to be lots of heavy skating, great times, and memories to take place this year. Northwest bowl basher, Lance Leisher took out the competition in a rain soaked Port Angeles a couple of weeks ago and snatched the opportunity to pack his bags to hang with Double D and join the chaos in Malmö.
CHP PRO
DVS and the SPoTlight Productions team from Skatepark of Tampa are putting together the 1st Annual CPH PRO 2007 in Copenhagen, Denmark at the Copenhagen Skatepark. This pro caliber skate event will be the first in many, many years for Copenhagen. The schedule includes Pro Street, Pro Vert, Street Best Trick and open Bowl events and runs from Friday, June 29th through Sunday, July 1st.
On Monday, July 2nd the crew will head over to the Roskilde Festival, which is the Woodstock of Europe and put together a few skate demos and contests for the local skate scene. The festival brings a line up of over 200 bands, lasting over four days. Some of the bands are The RHCP, The Who, Slayer, Bjork, My Chemical Romance, and The Beastie Boys, just to name a few. Located in the festival venue there is a concrete skate park with a smooth bowl and a good vert ramp.
For those professionals that want to experience a great time skating in Copenhagen this summer, look no further. The details are right here.
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
On the weekend of July 27-29th, Vans and TMF present the World Championship of Skateboarding in Rotterdam, Holland. With an $80,000 purse up for grabs, many of the world’s best pros and amateurs will converge at Ahoy Stadium for three days for a shot at some earnings and fame. Additional details including the highly anticipated photo contest for $10 large ones can be found right over here.

A Whole New Book with Analog
Analog has recently announced a major power move with the addition of Arto Saari, Omar Salazar, Stefan Janoski and Dylan Rieder to its team.
In the press release, Arto is quoted, “This is a new book, not just turning a new leaf—it’s a whole new book.” Sounds about right. Analog’s mainstay riders Brain Sumner and Jon Goeman must be psyched.

We’ve always had a soft spot for early 90’s street skating but everyone knows the early Element team was legendary. Stone talks about the early days, jumping teams, rolling with Pep Martinez and the origins of Lil’ Stevie. And what’s this about something going down this summer?
