Bend Press Chirps Out
If you read The Skateboard Mag, and you should, you’ll notice the fantastic Andy Jenkins drawings that show up each month in the ‘Chirp’ section. Just in case you missed a few he’s posted the lot on his website. Worth checking out.
We’ve also heard rumors of Wrench Pilot coming back to life. Let’s hope so, as skateboarding needs a good dose of creativity. Fingers crossed.

Also, each pair of Vans you pick up gives $5 toward building local skate spots. Good idea.

Speedy Gonzales, Andale Tour Wrap Up
Although we’re still scratching our heads on how skateboarding and Speedy Gonzales makes marketing sense…the ‘Andale Posse’ has wrapped up their tour and have posted quite a few videos for your viewing pleasure. There’s also a Danny Gonzales blog and a few photo galleries as well.
Then go buy a 50 dollar set of Speedy Gonzales / tattoo inspired La Raza dog tags. Huh?

Lobbying the Need for Speed
Remember the annual Capitola Classics of the 80s? So do we. Well, it looks like the touristy Northern California seaside town is looking to catch up on its roots, the skatepark movement and talks have been re-visited to bring racing back to Monterey Avenue. Bomb hills, not countries.

New Recruits and Link Ups
Brad Staba checked in to report that Skate Mental has welcomed its newest Am, John Motta to the crew. Actually, they just put him on and he’s become the team’s first am. Elsewhere, global nomad Kenny Reed has joined up with his friends over at the Sweetleaf stable known as Rasa Libre. Sounds like a sure fit.
