Roughnecks at the Ready
Roughneck’s 3rd annual BART tour will begin at SF’s island on the EMB this Sunday, October 29th at high noon where there will be a cash prize for the best “run up” trick down the stairs. Then, the mob hits the transit off to the Concord skate park for a little game of SKATE on the butter ledge and more money will be doled out to a winner. Next up, a best trick throwdown at the Oakland court house for more green stuff. Lastly, a huge and heavy skate jam and barbeque at the Berkley park as the sun sets. Let’s see if Berkeley’s men in blue bring out the riot squad once again this year.

Hawk Breaks New Ground…In Marketing
Tony Hawk does it again, this time it’s rocking a new way to advertise product. This New York Times piece discusses Hawk’s complex relationship with Jeep, Activision and McDonalds (in case you’re wondering he buys his kids the Number 2 meal).
From the article: “all those involved want to avoid the program seeming too commercialized — or, as he described it, “sales-y” — to avoid turning off the intended audience.”
