Leo Romero is SOTY 2010

For his continual barrage of progressive skating, two gnarly video parts, long miles of road travel, plenty of magazine coverage and much more, Leo Romero’s has received the honor, privilege, and ownership to Thrasher’s 2010 Skater Of The Year award.

Opting away from the phone call, Jake Phelps hopped on a plane to visit Leo’s casa to deliver the news straight to his face. Congrats Leo!

    Yeah, 50-50 up a handrail that gets legit coverage going down it? Yeah, that is progressive. When other pors wonder if a gap to rail is even skateable yet Leo gets 4 tricks in one day on it. Yeah, that’s gnarly. The only other person who even came close was Reynolds but he didn’t have as much coverage as Leo. Leo’s Stay Gold part was rad & his Brainwash part was insane.
