Given Skateboards founder Kris Markovich has partnered with Switchboard Inc., manufacturer/distributor of several skateboard brands, which inlcudes Grind King, Termite Skateboards, Dogtown Skateboards, Layback Longboards, Dick Brewer Hawaii Skateboards, and Cargo Trucks.
According to Mark Sweetser, VP of Sales at Switchboard, Inc., “Through this new partnership, Kris has more time to focus on his passion for art and design. The Switchboard Inc. family, is excited to bring Given Skateboards into its long term distribution plan.”

As we’d mentioned a couple of weeks ago, the long awaited and highly anticipated World Premiere of Stay Gold – The Emerica video will take place in Hollywood, California on August 17, 2010.
The location for this special event takes place at the Hollywood Hills’ Ford Amphitheater which will also feature live sets from Dead Meadow and Earthless. The evening which kicks off at 7:30pm promises to be an amazing and memorable night for
the introduction of a new skateboarding classic from Emerica, directed by Jon Miner.
Pre-sale general admission tickets go on sale for $5 at The Ford Amphitheater’s website or vi phone at 323-461-3673 on August 1st. Space is extremely limited. Reserving your tickets on August 1st is highly recommended!

J. Grant Brittain and Josh Higgins have collaborated with their creativeness in the form of an art show at San Diego’s Subtext gallery. The opening takes place this Friday, July 30th from 6-10pm. LOOK: poster art tees created by these two artists will be available for purchase at the show too.

For Real’s 3rd strike online catalog release, Real has teamed up with London based street artist and life long skater D*Face on an all new collaboration project featuring 3 new decks with artwork by D*Face made specific for Dennis Busenitz, Peter Ramondetta, and Justin Brock. In addition to the decks D*face also renegaded a huge replica of the artwork from Justin Brock’s deck on a wall in London. See the full story in Brock vs. D*face, Now Live!

The Maysles Cinema in Harlem, New York will be hosting two special nights of skate films this week. On Wednesday, July 28th, they will screen Six Stair’s ‘Deathbowl to Downtown: The Evolution of Skateboarding in New York City’ at 7:30 pm. On Thursday, July 29th, you can see a screening of ‘Legends Never Die’, video compiled by R.B. Umali, in memory of Harold Hunter at 8:00 pm. Prior to Thursday’s screening there will be a demo at the Lenox Ledges featuring skaters from Shut Skates, 5 Boro & Zoo York at 6:00 pm.

With just a little under two weeks until go time, the Maloof Money Cup crew has released the comprehensive design for the all new street course which will play host to top Pros and Ams at the Orange County Fairgrounds early next month. Features of the course designed by California Skateparks include a section of AZ’s Big Surf Wave pool, a replica of the renowned Sadlands planter, Venice Beach ledges, and many more street spots from the Southland. Be sure to tune into the live televised coverage at Fuel TV (+ live Webcast and Appcast) on August 6-8 from 12pm – 8pm (PST) to witness the action!
