Shoe Talk

I Path has announced the recruitment of pro skater and Familia skate shop owner Steve Nesser to its team with this welcome video. Elsewhere, Peter Hewitt’s voice with Vox has been silenced as he’s now killing it on all transitional terrain with a proper Nike SB endorsement. For reasons unknown, word on the street is that Dave Bachinsky has been let go from the adidas skate squad. Check the team section of their recently updated website for proof. Across the Atlantic, Javier Mendizibal continues to destroy the skateparks of Spain in his Gravis kicks as he readies for a European tour with the team to promote the release of Arto’s new shoe.

I dont understand how things like this happen, isnt VOX run by Navs who is best friends with Peter. maybe its all $$ right. Its just business as they say.
the girls on the slap MBs are claiming that VOX is done as well… hewitt on nike, navs on vans, others on c1rca.
I don’t get why Rob Gonzales isn’t listed on the adidas site along with the team. He’s been repping the 3 stripes for longer than most of those dudes.
Who said navs is on vans? Vox aint going nowhere so long as drehobl and gravette are on the roster… maybe. but i’ve been wrong before. Either way, Hewitt on Do It and Navs on Vans sounds like there is going to be some really gay advertisements and one-liners coming our way.
Navs was wearing some vans on the creature tour that is on the thrasher site. Possibly the end?
Richard Angelides has been repping Adidas since way before Rob G too.
Vox had the best team ever for awhile. Drehobl, Guzman, Strubing, Gravette, Hewitt, Navs… probably others that I’m forgetting, but that’s a fucking all star line up right there.
its a heavy crew but homeboys need to get paid… maybe the bad times catching up with vox?
Besides ripping of classic designs of Vans shoes (say eras, half cabs or Chukkas) what has been Vox contribution/innovation to the saturated skate shoe market? I say none…Is hard to stay in business that way.
Remember 88 shoes? didnt think so. only took two years for that one to collapse.
Same for vox. just a competitor to loosen up the market during prosperous times.
GO PETE! – If anybody ACTUALLY deserves a big time shoe deal, then its Peter Hewitt. The man is just plain awesome! Stop hating on Nike, fools. That’s what we all skated in before there were such a thing as “skateboard” shoes.
