Zoo York has joined forces with Morning Breath, a creative studio in Brooklyn, NY to release a series of boards that were inspired by the unique characters found throughout New York City and the classic Hell’s Kitchen/Times Square peepshows of the ’70s & ’80’s.

 

Real’s Autism Speaks Demo Inspired More Than Skating

There was an amazing post at the DLX website yesterday that deserves special attention. When the Real Autism Speaks Demo rolled through North Carolina last year, it was the inspiration for the organization called Concrete Cures, which uses skateboarding as an outlet for children with autism. Cedar Crest Legend Passes Away

Skaters on the East Coast are mourning the loss of Cedar Crest Country Club legend Greg Ashley, who passed away Sunday. Greg was the King of “Skatecamp”, and opened up his home to many visiting notables and pros including Blender, Lopes, Gator, Simpson, T-Mag, etc. Greg was a contributor to Lapper Mag, a prolific silk screener, and all around great guy. He will be missed.

 

Gravis Team Flies in February

The Gravis team is gearing up for a six-city tour in February to celebrate and promote the release of Arto Saari’s new shoes, the Arto and Arto Lx. On board for this jet-set juggernaut along with Arto are: Dylan Rieder, Jake Johnson, Sam Winter, and Steve Forstner.

Zered Bassett’s Photo Show Re-Cap

The 2009 Cuban Skate Mission (It wasn’t really called that) has been well documented. While in Cuba, Zoo York pro, Zered Bassett shot photos throughout the entire visit. Last Saturday, in New Jersey, there was a showing of those pictures as well as a bowl session, sponsored by Red Bull. The seemingly omnipresent Chris Nieratko was on hand for both events and turned in this report for ESPN.
