Dyrdek ‘Makes Moves’ For Body Spray, Skate Smell = Big Money
Posted by Chris - August 28th, 2009 9:06 am
First Ryan Sheckler and his crew stepped up with ‘Double pits to chesty‘ for AXE body spray. Now Rob Dyrdek is ‘Making Moves‘ for TAG body spray (aka Right Guard). Dyrdek is running a signature scent (?) along side baller Carmelo Anthony and rapper Ludacris. Who knew that companies are stepping up with big dollars to control how skaters smell? Who’s going to be next?
The info section on Dyrdek’s You Tube video sums it up nicely, “Available in select stores now. If your Wal Mart doesn’t have it, demand that they get it.” Put the word ’skateboarding’ in front of that sentence. Read it out loud. Exactly.

Apparently Bears Love Skating Too
Posted by bk - August 27th, 2009 1:59 am
A bear was recently found stranded at a skatepark in Snowmass, Colorado. Park officials believe the bear stumbled in overnight and got stuck in the bowl. Whoever showed up to that park bright and early was probably a little taken back by the sight of a big bear chillin’ in the deep end.

Flip Skateboards Aims To Set Soundtrack Standard With Extremely Sorry Release
Posted by bk - August 25th, 2009 9:56 pm
The stars aligned when Flip Skateboards joined forces with noted music producer and premier league DJ Baron, to create a completely unique soundtrack for their hugely anticipated third video project, Extremely Sorry. The soundtrack has been years in the making and features an array of musical styles to match each skater’s part in the film. Baron worked closely with film director Ewan Bowman for countless hours to score original tracks which matched each skater’s style as well as one of the film’s stars Geoff Rowley, who helped Baron connect closely to the skaters and legitimize the process with them and the skateboard industry.
“Extremely Sorry has been four years in the making and the most insane journey I have been on. The music was made to serve the skateboarding and the skateboarding is epic.” – Baron
Through an array of relationships, Baron, Geoff Rowley and the Flip team were able to arrange a mix of artists to provide vocals throughout the soundtrack. At the time of this press release details have yet to be released, however expect appearances for major acts in the rock, rap and punk genres.
Partnering with Volcom Entertainment to distribute and market the album, Flip feels this soundtrack will set the standard to come for skate films in the future.
To give a taste of what the soundtrack will be like, Flip has released an instrumental track from the Extremely Sorry David Gonzalez trailer for FREE available on the Volcom Entertainment site.
The complete soundtrack for Extremely Sorry will be available for purchase in stores on October 20th.
