Support AB 874 – Remove Pad Laws from CA Skateparks!

California skaters young and old, now’s the time to support the state Assembly Bill AB 874 which would remove pad laws from California skateparks. Take 20 minutes of your day to write a letter to your local State Senator. The International Association of Skateboard Companies site has all of the details. Get to it!

    Corey Duffel has signed to Oz’s Armourdillo brand with a forthcoming line of signature accessories. No longer sitting idle on a footwear flowgram, Nor Cal’s Taylor Bingaman is the newest am recruit to Osiris’ expanding skate team. Greg Lutzka has been selected as the cornerstone professional to establish a new skate team at K-Swiss in an apparent bid for a percentage of the skate footwear market. Perhaps Anna knows the real deal here? Lastly, Mike Vallely has leveraged an endorsement with Affliction clothing since the brand speaks directly to his lifestyle.

    Spitfire Lights Up Deluxe’s Summer 09 Catalog

    Deluxe has released the first installment of its online Summer 09 catalog with plenty of video bits and hits from Spitfire’s new collection of wheels and all-star line up of team riders. It all starts off with a very on point introduction from skateboarding lifer Jim Thiebaud. Of significant note, Chris Cole has recently joined Spitfire’s squad with the production of his very own black F1 wheel! Have a look and keep your eyes peeled for additional sections of this beast with Krooked, Thunder, Real, and Anti Hero to roll out in the coming days throughout next week.

     

    Vans Featured in the LA Times

    With the highly anticipated Vans book Vans: Off the Wall- Stories of Sole from Vans Originals hitting the streets this June, Steve Van Doren checked in with the LA Times for a little chat. It’s crazy to think that in the next two years Vans is projected to hit over one billion dollars in sales. Not bad for a home grown 43 year old company.
