After two months of fielding video submissions, Maloof and REELcomp’s Search for AMs video competition has announced the winners of the street and vert competitions. In the end, the judging panel of Don Bostick, Jake Brown, Mark Waters (etnies) and Mark Cernosia (REELcomp) struggled to narrow down the top two in each category. But they’ve determined that the four talented guys below will win all expenses paid trips to California and have the opportunity to compete in the Amateur World Championship of Skateboarding on July 11 – 13th, 2008.

After close to eight long years, San Francisco is set to open the city’s second public skatepark, Potrero del Sol this Saturday, June 28th at 11:30am. Up in the Northwest, the city of Portland is set to open Gabriel park, its fourth public skateboarding facility (of a proposed nineteen total) on Friday, July 11th.

The Krux Kickflip Challenge record has been broken big time! The new champ is Christian Brekke and he won the Session Kickflip Challenge in his home town of Bergen, Norway with 1424 consecutive kickflips. FYI – This is the same Scandinavian kid that just last summer broke the previous kickflip record of 284 with his own 332. He’s come a long way in 12 months huh? What does Christian win for this monumental effort? Well, hopefully some skate shoes that will last long enough for his next attempt to one up himself!

It’s Bobby Worrest day over at the Deluxe site. What does that mean? Well, it means his new pro model dropped today and you can enter to win it. Fallen footwear’s first full length skate film, Ride the Sky featuring Josh Harmony, Jamie Thomas, Tony Cervantes, Brian Hansen, Matt Bennett, James Hardy, Gilbert Crockett, Tommy Sandoval, Billy Marks, and Chris Cole is nearing completion with a premiere date set for Thursday, August 7th in San Diego, CA.
