Rick McCrank And Peta2
Posted by Chris - March 27th, 2008 7:29 am
Rick McCrank is teaming up to Peta2 to promote vegetarianism. He’s featured in this print ad stating, “I am a professional skateboarder, entrepreneur, and father. For me, eating meat feels unnatural.” It’s a bit odd that Rick also has a leather and suede pro-model shoe…but I guess he isn’t eating his shoes so Peta doesn’t mind.
Momentum Wheels is also stepping up with a prize pack that includes wheels, T-shirts and stickers. You can enter to win here.
Fighting for London’s South Bank
Posted by bk - March 26th, 2008 11:09 am
The skaters of London and beyond need your support in saving the Southbank skateboard area from becoming re-developed into a commercial shopping area!
Since the early 70s “The Undercroft” (the sheltered area beneath the Queen Elizabeth Hall on London’s Southbank) has served as the centerpoint of the skateboarding community in the UK. It’s an open public-space that has brought together thousands of young people, from various backgrounds, over the last 35 years to form a harmonious and positive community. But the free and open public area is now under threat and could soon be no more!
Please spend the next 20 minutes to checkout a very observant documentary film “Save The Southbank” that has been produced by Winstan Whitter and Toby Shuall to generate an understanding of the area and the important situation at hand. Do your part and sign the online petition to join the fight!
*Note – In order sign the petition you have to be a UK resident, but perhaps you can get creative with a Google search and make up an address for the cause. Get to it!
