While we’re on the topic of contests, have a look at an editorial piece that skateboarding journalist Rob Brink has posted on his site that jumps into the world of Brazilian contest skater, Rodil Jr.
Apparently, he has an agent, no sponsors, and lives for the limelight, yet the prince of the podium has no sponsors. Be sure to check out the unedited version of the interview too…it kinda makes your skin crawl.

    Münster Mastership Cancelled

    The 25th annual Münster Monster Mastership better known as the 2006 World Championships have been cancelled. It has been reported that the yearly event set to be held at Halle Münsterland in Münster, Germany is feeling the pinch from the shortfall of title sponsors already quite thrilled and committed to this summer’s FIFA World Cup events. You see, soccer is a BIG deal throughout Germany and most other regions of the world.
    Other details cite that the long running skate event has been tentatively rescheduled for October 6th-8th. We’ll see.

    Jamie Thomas and Family Welcome a New Arrival

    Jamie and his wife Joanne are the proud new parents of a healthy baby daughter, James Ruby Thomas. Ruby was born this afternoon, March 30th at 2:25pm. Congratulations to the Thomas family!

     

    Bondi Bowl-O-Rama

    On February 26th the Bowl-O-Rama went down at the Bondi Beach Bowl in Australia. when the pool dust cleared Omar Hassan took first place, Renton Miller took second and Adam Luxford took third. Check out the video footage here or stream it through iTunes.

     

    Skate Mental with Griptape

    Brad Staba has informed us that he and Reese Forbes are set to launch a skateboard company under the guise of Skate Mental, an online destination that Justin Girard and Brad have been doing for awhile. The trio of professionals are looking to make the board brand something fun and creative with limited runs. Everything they produce has been special so far, and the boards will be released in the same style. Look for the new shred sleds soon!

    Four Star has just released their new website. It includes their spring 2006 clothing line, team rider self portraits, video, an ad archive and much more. With all the talent involved with this brand you can’t help but be impressed. Take a look.
