    Brazilian Press Release – Trajectory?

This arrived to us in a cryptic email message and we thought that we’d share it.
“With an amazing campaign, the Brazilian skateboarder Rodil de Araujo Jr, also know as “Ferrugem”, won the 2004 World Cup of Skateboarding, even before the end of the season. He got the title with his 2nd place in this weekend’s Vans Triple Crown, in Huntington Beach, California.
With 26 years old, Rodil have a lot of accomplishments. He was the Brazilian champion eight times. In 2002 he won World, North-American and European cups. In his 16 year skateboarder career he also won six golden medals in the X-Games.
Exclusively sponsored by Qix Skateboards, Rodil maintained the first position all the way in this 2004 World Cup. Also, he got in the top 3 in all the championships he entered.”
His entire trajectory was covered by www.qix.com.br, the website from Qix brand and also the biggest skateboard related news site in Brazil. Qix International is working in a DVD about Rodil going trough the countries and championships of this 2004 World Cup of Skateboarding.
The sponsors, magazines and photographers should be knocking at the door real soon.

    Tod Swank Interviewed

The Daily found an interesting and insightful interview piece with Tod Swank. He discusses his history in the skateboard world, the start up of Skateboard.com, and the history of Foundation Skateboards amongst several of his business ventures over the past fifteen years…definitely worth a read.

Skateboarding Is Alive and Well – Still A Crime

The skateboard industry has been asked to help restore the fountain in Balboa Park’s Alcazar Garden from damage sustained from skateboarders and inliners (kooks). And thus far, nobody’s opened thier pocket books.
One Vista man believes the skateboard industry should promote responsible behavior, just as alcohol companies pay for advertisements that warn against drunken driving. Yeah, right… let’s be sure to get this thing restructured in a safe, fenced-in skatepark environment.
